Todoist, in development.
Nothing connects yet.
We are building a two-way link between your personal tasks in PuraTasks and a Todoist account. This page says what the plan covers so far.
In development
What exists
so far.
The groundwork is a working branch of the app, separate from the build anyone uses.
- Personal tasks get nested projects, so a project can hold projects.
- Sections group the tasks inside a project, the way Todoist does.
- Subtasks become full tasks of their own, with their own dates and priority.
- Typing #project in Quick Capture files a personal task, and creates the project if it is new.
What the link
is meant to do.
- Both directionsA task added, finished, rescheduled or edited on one side shows up on the other.
- Fields that matchTitle, notes, done, priority, date and time, deadline, repeat, labels, project, section and subtasks, plus a reminder set at a time.
- A switch per kind of taskPersonal tasks come first. Grocery has its own switch. Client and internal tasks stay out unless you turn them on.
- You choose what syncsOn the first connection you pick which Todoist projects take part. Nothing is matched by title.
- Connects with a tokenThe first version uses a personal Todoist API token and syncs while PuraTasks is open.
Guardrails
in the plan.
- No duplicates: every change is logged before it is sent, so a retry cannot create a second copy.
- A deleted task goes to Trash first and can be restored.
- A cycle that would delete or complete a large batch pauses and asks you first.
- Pause and disconnect stop syncing and delete nothing on either side.
- A settings log lists every change the sync made.
What would stay where it is
Comments, attachments, durations, location reminders and collaborators stay in Todoist. Habits stay in PuraTasks. Neither side gets a field blanked because the other has no match for it.
